Traveling to O'Hare or Midway with your family is one of those trips where logistics can make or break your morning. The right vehicle, booked at the right time, can turn a stressful 5am departure into a smooth, door-to-terminal experience. Here's everything you need to know.
Which Vehicle Do You Need?
| Group Size | Best Vehicle | Luggage | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–3 people | Sedan (Toyota Camry) | 2 standard bags | Flat rate (from $65) |
| 4 people | Mid-Size SUV or Sedan | 3–4 bags | Call for rate |
| 5–6 people | Minivan (Toyota Sienna) | 5–6 bags | Flat rate + $15 |
| 7 people | Large Minivan | 6 bags | Flat rate + $15 |
| 8+ people | Two vehicles | Call to discuss | Call for rate |
The Toyota Sienna minivan is our most popular family vehicle. The third row folds down when you need extra cargo space, so even if you have 4 people and a lot of luggage, it can be the right choice.
Car Seats — What You Need to Know
Car seats are available for all ages for +$10 each. This must be reserved in advance — car seats are not available as a same-day, last-minute add-on. When booking:
- Tell us the age(s) and approximate weight(s) of children needing seats
- Specify infant seat, convertible, or booster as needed
- Car seat availability is limited — book as early as possible, especially during holidays
How Far in Advance to Book for Families
We recommend booking family and group trips at least 48–72 hours in advance, not just 8 hours. Here's why:
- Minivan availability is limited — especially on holiday weekends
- Car seat availability requires advance notice
- Early booking locks your flat rate price — no surprises on travel day
- You have more flexibility if your plans change
For holiday travel (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Memorial Day, July 4th), book at least 1–2 weeks in advance. These are our busiest periods.
Luggage Tips for Group Travel
The most common issue with group travel is underestimating luggage. A family of 4 flying for 10 days often has 4 full-size suitcases, 4 carry-ons, a stroller, and a car seat. This is a lot of gear.
- When booking, tell us exactly how many bags you have — large, medium, and small
- If you have oversize bags (golf clubs, ski equipment, strollers), mention it at booking
- Our minivan can handle 6 standard bags with the third row up, or more with the third row folded
- If you're unsure, just call — we'll figure out the right vehicle together
Traveling with Young Children: Extra Time Tips
Children slow things down at the airport — and that's completely normal. When booking with kids, add extra buffer time:
- Add 20–30 minutes to your usual departure time from home
- TSA with young children takes longer — expect 10–15 extra minutes at security
- TSA PreCheck allows children under 12 to keep their shoes on and stay with a parent
- Ask for family lane at TSA — most checkpoints have a dedicated family security line
- Airlines board families with young children early — arrive at the gate with time to spare
Coming Home: Airport Pickup with Family
On your return, we pick up at the arrivals curb. With kids and luggage after a long flight:
- Your driver will be at the arrivals level with your name on a sign
- They help load all bags — you focus on keeping the kids together
- If your flight is delayed, we track it automatically — your driver adjusts at no extra charge
