Midway Airport Taxi Pickup Guide

Midway (MDW) is a much simpler airport than O'Hare — one terminal, easy to navigate — but finding your pre-booked driver can still be confusing if you've never done it before. This guide walks you through exactly where to go and what to expect.

Step-by-Step: From Your Gate to Your Driver

1
Exit your gate and follow signs to Baggage Claim
All baggage claim belts are on the lower level. Follow the overhead signs — it's a single, linear path from the gates.
2
Collect your checked baggage (if any)
The baggage claim area has multiple carousels. Check the departure board on the wall for your flight's carousel number.
3
Exit through the main doors to the Arrivals Curb
After baggage claim, walk through the automatic doors directly outside. You are now on the Ground Transportation/Arrivals Level on Cicero Avenue.
4
Look for your driver with your name sign
Your driver will be standing curbside or just inside the arrivals door holding a sign with your name. Look to the right side of the exit doors first.
5
If you don't see your driver — call the number in your text
Your driver's direct cell number was sent in a text 24 hours before your flight. Call them directly — they may be circling or just pulled away briefly.

Where Exactly Drivers Wait at Midway

Midway Airport's arrivals/ground transportation area is on the lower level of the terminal, on Cicero Avenue. Pre-arranged car services (like ours) pick up at the yellow "Prearranged Car" zone, which is distinct from the taxi stand and rideshare areas.

  • Look for the "Prearranged/Car Service" signs on the curb — these are typically yellow and clearly labeled
  • Our drivers stand at the curb with a name sign — not in a vehicle waiting
  • If the curb is busy, your driver may be parked in the short-term area seconds away — just call
★ Don't Go to the Taxi Stand The regular taxi queue at Midway is separate from pre-arranged car service pickup. Do not wait in the taxi line — your pre-booked driver is holding a sign for you specifically. Head to the prearranged car service zone.

Midway vs O'Hare: Which is Easier to Navigate?

Midway wins for simplicity every time:

  • One terminal — no inter-terminal trains or shuttles
  • Compact layout — gate to baggage claim is a 5–8 minute walk
  • Single arrivals area — no guessing which terminal your driver is at
  • Shorter TSA lines — typically 10–20% shorter wait than O'Hare on the same day

The trade-off: fewer international flights, fewer airline options, and the Southwest Airlines hub model means more connections. But for domestic travelers, Midway is often the better experience.

Flight Tracking — No Need to Call Us

We track your incoming flight in real time. If your Southwest, American, or Delta flight is delayed — even by 2–3 hours — your driver automatically adjusts their arrival time. You don't need to:

  • Call us to report a delay
  • Update your booking
  • Worry about being charged for the delay

When you land, your driver is there. That's the job.
